Dr. Al Turri

Dr. Turri is the Director of Audiology for The Villages Health, where he leads a team of nine audiologists dedicated to serving America’s Healthiest Hometown through comprehensive education, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing loss. Dr. Turri joined The Villages Health in 2011 as its first specialist to establish the Audiology department, bringing with him deep experience in the patient experience, medical treatment of hearing loss expertise and extensive practice management experience.

Dr. Turri earned a master’s degree in Audiology from the University of South Florida in 2001 and a doctorial degree from the Pennsyvania College of Optometry School of Audiology in 2006. He was selected for a coveted clinical fellowship at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, where he completed his residency treating hearing loss, tinnitus and providing aural rehabilitation.

Following his clinical fellowship, Dr. Turri worked in a variety of audiology settings in several states, including medical clinics, hearing aid manufacturing and operations management. He returned to Florida in 2007 and opened an audiology practice inside of a primary care physician office, lauching his entrepreneurial venture of what would become Harmony Hearing Centers of America located in Central Florida, delivering close to 2,000 hearing aids per year. Eager to shift his focus back to patient care, he sold the business in 2015 and joined The Villages Health full-time.

In addition to working side by side with primary care physicians to serve patients at The Villages Health, Dr. Turri speaks nationally on the subject of Ear to Brain Health and dedicates his time and passion to Hearing The Call, a nonprofit organization supported by Entheos Audiology Cooperative that provides aid to people without access to audiology care throughout the world and locally in the communities surrounding The Villages.

Dr. Turri is a Fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. He is a Fellow of the Florida Academy of Audiology. He is a Certified Dementia Risk Educator for the American Brain Council. He is a Certified Health Coach. Dr. Turri and his wife, Christiane, have three daughters.
