Initially, I had gone to Costco, hoping to use the cheaper hearing aids they offer. Unfortunately, after multiple appointments over six months, I still couldn’t tolerate/wear Costco hearing aids. When I went to Berkeley Hearing Center, I could tell right away it was going to be a very different experience. Jonathan was patient, thorough, knowledgeable, and experienced. He fitted me with hearing aids that were so comfortable In my ears… To the point that I forgot about them and accidentally wore them in the shower, a couple times! And then when I wasn’t hearing as well a few months later, he immediately recognized that exposure to moisture was playing a role and put them in the desiccant machine and voila! Back to hearing better with no discomfort! Absolutely worth the money!

Of course the purchase of the hearing aid was expensive, but oh how it’s worth it. Audiologist has expertise, the staff are very pleasant/ I have no complaints whatsoever/ Buying their hearing aid have had so many benefits.

I suffered a serious head injury almost a decade ago that damaged both of my cochleas rendering me functionally deaf without hearing aids. I tried several audiologists who did a less than satisfactory job. I finally found BHC. Jonathan, the owner, was the first audiologist who treated me, a semiprofessional musician, with the understanding and care I needed. He is a gifted, talented, capable audiologist not afraid to say he doesn't always have an answer and seek advice himself to find the solution. All the staff at BHC are excellent, caring and willing to help. One of those rare cases where you really get what you're paying for. I will continue to be a client for life. I highly recommend them completely without any reservation whatsoever.

Based on my family's "encouragement," I met with Dr. Gabriel a month ago....I am 72 years old. I've had my hearing tested for the last 10 years showing a consistent but moderately severe hearing loss. Based on my family's "encouragement," I met with Dr. Gabriel a month ago. After testing my hearing, he told me that I was an ideal candidate for hearing aids - "if you were my pop, I'd put you in them now." Two weeks later he fitted me with hearing aids. My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. The aids are comfortable, virtually undetectable, easy to manipulate and the improvement in my hearing is unbelievable. Dr. Gabriel is incredibly knowledgable and patient. I spent the last weekend at a wedding of 160 people with multiple events of different sizes, and I was so much better able to hear without straining than I could ever have imagined, ranging from one-on-one conversations to busy restaurants to a large wedding celebration. If you have any doubts about whether you can benefit from hearing aids, I recommend Dr. Gabriel and Berkeley Hearing Center wholeheartedly.
