Dr. Dawn Heiman attained her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology. She obtained Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her Master of Science degree in Audiology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Heiman is President-Elect for the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and Fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Illinois Academy of Audiology.

She is also the visionary and president of EntreAudiology, LLC. It was designed to help others around the world hear better through Membership program with Masterminds for Audiology practice owners that helps them collaborate and do more for their patients with better systems and ideas from the group members.

She also created the Hearing Wellness Journey, an online aural rehabilitation program for people who have hearing loss and use hearing instruments. It is a learn-as-you-go online program that has over 40 videos that teach you more about hearing loss, strategies for hearing your best, and listening activities (lipreading, hearing fast speech, hearing speech in background noise, and hearing speech with accents). Dr. Heiman created an online instructional program for Nurses, Caregivers, and Home Health aides to help them support someone with hearing loss, the Hearing Aide Certification program.

Dr. Dawn Heiman has given many lectures on various topics regarding hearing loss, hearing aids, psychosocial aspects of hearing loss, prevention of hearing loss, cochlear implants, and auditory processing disorders to various private and public groups in hospitals and civic organizations in the Philadelphia and Chicago areas. She is a recognized expert in the field of hearing health.
