I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I received my Bachelor degree in Neuroscience at Carthage College in Wisconsin and my graduate degree at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. During my final year at Northwestern, I completed my externship at a non-profit clinic and school for the deaf and hard of hearing in Kentucky.

When I was in college studying neuroscience, I met my now husband who wears bilateral hearing aids. Previously, I was unsure of what to pursue after my undergraduate studies. Luckily, my husband recommended shadowing his audiologist and I knew this was the right field for me. I am grateful I found a field that allows me to think creatively and compassionately while being able to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. My previous experience in audiology allowed me to work in all areas of audiology including vestibular, cochlear implants, bone conduction hearing aids, electrophysiology, and even in an educational setting.
