Dr. Jim Shafer joins A&E Audiology & Hearing Aid Center with over 30 years of private practice experience. He is a licensed clinical audiologist in the state of Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University, Master of Science degree from Temple University and Doctor of Audiology degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences, a division of AT Still University of Health sciences, the oldest Osteopathic University in the nation.
Dr. Shafer was the owner of Audiologic Consultants, Inc. until 2005 and later owned AC Tinnitus, Hyperacusis and Balance Center, Inc. where he provided comprehensive hearing, tinnitus, and balance evaluations and therapies. He has advanced training in vestibular evaluation and tinnitus rehabilitation, including a post-doctorate advanced study in tinnitus and hyperacusis from Salus University.
Dr. Shafer remains very active in audiology organizations and governmental affairs. He served a six-year term as a member and the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Board of Examiners in Speech, Language Pathology and Audiology. He currently serves as Director of Governmental Affairs for the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology.
