Dr. Ashley Dougherty pursued a career in audiology because of her personal experience with hearing loss. She was born profoundly deaf in both ears, and has worn a cochlear implant since the age of two and has received audiological care her entire life. Dr. Dougherty has special interests in the areas of auditory processing disorder, newborn hearing screenings, and cochlear implants, and she loves working with patients of all ages. Dr. Dougherty grew up here in Lancaster County, and lives in Ephrata, PA with her husband and dog, Gunner. When not in the office, Dr. Dougherty can be found spending time with family and friends, running, hiking, and going to Hersheypark.

I became an audiologist because there is so much value to hearing that we take for granted. I received the gift of a cochlear implant at the age of two, and it has blessed me in so many ways. I would not be where I am now without it. I so enjoy working with both adults and children with hearing loss, and love the connection that we have in sharing the experience of hearing loss.
